SIXTY Presentation

How federations can engage their audience and empower their rights licensees with interactive graphics on their world feed

Sports Leagues and Federations recognise that keeping pace with the demands of an ever increasing digital savvy global audience is key to maintaining the popularity of a sport. A key challenge is how to best adjust business models to make the most of emerging new technologies.
For instance, many Leagues and Federations aren't yet ready, or strategically willing to move to a direct-to-consumer offering, such as a league/season pass. In this session we will show that they can instead meet their twin goals of maximising fan engagement and content revenues through enabling their media partners to distribute better interactive OTT and TV anywhere content services using interactive on-air graphics distribution.
We will examine how incredibly powerful, interactive personalised future sports video delivery and data services from providers such as Gracenote, Opta or Stats can be delivered with relatively small incremental investment through a change in the way that broadcasters and operators use the infrastructure already in place.

LaLiga and the Challenge of a Changing Broadcast Environment

LaLiga has increased the value of its domestic broadcasting rights by 22% for the coming 2019/2020 ? 2021/2022 seasons. LaLiga's ability to adapt to a changing competitive broadcast environment has enabled the competition to continue its growth in international markets as well, achieving a 30% revenue in its overseas broadcasting rights. LaLiga's President Javier Tebas will explain how the recent deal in India between Spain's top-flight football competition and Facebook is a perfect example of how LaLiga is transitioning and adapting to a new environment, and how this environment is making its way into the entertainment industry.
