GOAL FINISH™, A WORLD PREMIER IN FOOTBALL AND BROADCASTING!

Goal or no goal? A major technological step forward has just been taken in the emotions transmitted to television viewers thanks to a unique vision and goal validation system.

Located behind the goals, the Goal Finish™ system follows the trajectory of the ball in real time, while monitoring the space inside the goal cage. Goal Finish™ is the only digital vision technology to offer augmented reality images of the action in front of the goals and to prove if a goal has occurred or not, in case of disputes.

Consisting of two high-speed cameras managed by 3D tracking software, the Goal Finish™ system is an expert system intended for broadcasters who wish to offer exclusive images to their viewers to enhance their reputation and expand viewership.

Designed by the i2S group for Canal+ in France, the system has been tested for 18 months during French Ligue 1 matches. To be officially launched in France in August 2008, the Goal Finish™ system will be used in premium Ligue 1 matches and in Champions League matches featuring French teams.
