Alexandre Fourtoy, has been the CEO of UEFA Media Technologies (UMET), a fully owned subsidiary of the Union des Associations Européennes de Football (UEFA), since August 2001.

UEFA Media Technologies handles production, digital distribution and rights management in converging technologies on behalf of UEFA.

UEFA Media Technologies is in charge of Host Broadcast Operations for UEFA EURO 2008™, which will take place in Austria and Switzerland. It will produce the TV signal in HD and deliver multilateral and unilateral feeds to rights-holding broadcasters from around the world. Furthermore, UEFA Media Technologies will oversee the live internet streaming of all the UEFA EURO 2008™ matches to internet audiences worldwide.

UMET is also responsible delivery of uefa.com, Europe’s football website, and euro2008.com, two of the world’s largest football driven content websites published in ten languages. Furthermore, UEFA Media Technologies offers internet video-on-demand and mobile products and services. It also oversees the development and implementation of all ICT platforms within the UEFA organisation and services to the European football family.

Prior to joining UEFA Media Technologies, Alexandre Fourtoy was the head of Sportal France, the French based subsidiary of the European internet sports group Sportal SA, for two years. But originally his roots lie in the TV world. He worked in several countries in Latin America and Europe developing Pay TV and Digital Satellite channels for different groups such as Canal+.

Alexandre Fourtoy graduated from the Lyon School of Business, speaks French, English and Spanish fluently and is the father of three boys.
